KUALA LUMPUR | Persatuan Majikan Perindustrian, Komersial dan Perkhidmatan Malaysia (MICSEA) bimbang terhadap kesan cadangan melanjutkan umur persaraan kepada 65 tahun sekiranya tidak dirancang secara teliti.
Presidennya, YK Lai berkata, meskipun ramai warga emas kini sihat dan berdaya kerja walaupun telah melepasi usia persaraan, namun ia tidak bermakna semua sektor atau semua pekerja mampu bertahan sehingga umur 65 tahun.
Mskipun mengalu-alukan usaha kerajaan mengekalkan tenaga kerja berpengalaman dalam sektor pekerjaan, namun beliau tetap berpendapat, pelaksanaan dasar itu tidak boleh dilakukan secara tergesa-gesa atau mengabaikan realiti semasa tenaga kerja negara
“Apa yang lebih penting adalah bagaimana kita menyusun dasar supaya ia adil dan praktikal untuk semua golongan pekerja,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Semalam, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Undang-Undang dan Reformasi Institusi) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said mencadangkan kerajaan mempertimbangkan untuk menaikkan umur persaraan wajib daripada 60 tahun kepada 65 tahun.
Azalina yang menyuarakan pandangan peribadinya berkata, adalah satu kerugian apabila individu diwajibkan bersara pada usia 60 tahun sedangkan mereka masih bertenaga dan produktif serta berupaya menyumbang kepada tenaga kerja.
